有鑒於金州勇士Draymond Green對於防守上的「執著」，23日NBA宣布將開始注意球員攻擊對方下體的不自然行為。
根據《美聯社》報導，NBA已經在季前提醒了所有教練、球員以及隊職員，裁判將會加強「取締」假摔、惡意犯規、走步等多項違例與犯規行為，當中包括攻擊「男人要害」。
聯盟不否認是因為Green在上季季後賽、總冠軍賽的「舉動」讓他們注意到這件事，NBA裁判部門資深副總Joe Borgia表示，現在的球員除了「動手」，還會動腳。
「他們不再只是揮動雙手製造犯規，下肢的動作也突然在最近加進來了，這真的很奇怪。為了保護球員，我們必須禁止。」Borgia說。

紅襪隊最後以5:3贏球，順利橫掃金鶯隊，也結束這系列賽。
